In this year's holiday card, rather than just wish our friends a happy new year, we wanted to offer more. What is 2010 other than that same number of trips around the sun? Our response was a quantitative image, 67 by 30 cells, with a total of 2010 cells.

Orange or yellow highlights indicate an innovation or event occurring that year. The proportion of the image is determined by factoring 2010 down to the prime factor 67.  In other words, the 67 by 30 rectangle is as close to a square as you can get using whole units for the multiple 2010. As it turns out, 67 is a special number: it is considered a lucky prime and is the average global life expectancy of humans. Happy New Year to all from all at Cottam Hargrave.
