The tent is an ancient symbol for the gathering place of worship. We adopted the tent as the precedent, focusing on the essentials of shelter, illumination, and peace. As a shelter the sanctuary will feel safe, comfortable and inspiring. The space is illuminated by baffled light from vertical and horizontal glazing. A ring of low clerestory windows are glazed with clear and white dichroic glass to further render light with smoothness and color. Together the shelter and the illumination create a sense of peace and place free from distractions.
